my new dining room

Here are a few pictures of the dining room. I think it turned out really well. I still have a little decorating to do, but other than that its done and I'm ready to have my kids all home so we can enjoy a meal together!

New Year's Day Mike and I headed to Dallas to look for dining room furniture and this is what we got. We both like it. I had seen it before when my daughter and I went shopping before Christmas, but I wanted to look around some more to make sure I got exactly what I really wanted. Everything we saw today was too formal for our tastes. I like the country look to this and I think we will get lots of enjoyment out of it. We ordered extra chairs so it will seat 8 comfortably. The bad part is that I have to wait 2-3 weeks for it to be delivered!

another remodeling update

Mike has steadily worked on the dining room. He finished it a lot sooner than he thought he would. It looks wonderful. He did such a great job on it and I am so proud of it! Now it just needs some furniture, window treatments and some decorating. I can't wait to have my first meal in my beautiful new dining room!

another remodeling update

The room is almost finished! Mike has worked hard and steady on his days off. He finished painting this week. He is putting the trim on now. Next he will lay the laminant flooring. We are really going to enjoy our new dining room! I get to go shopping for new furniture for it after Christmas!

Mike has steadily been working on enlarging the dining room since he started on it the first part of October . He works on it every day he has had off (except for when Avery was born.) He really enjoys doing stuff like this. I appreciate all his hard work. I cant wait to enjoy my new room! I'll update more as the work progresses.

Enlarging the dining room

We finally decided to enlarge our dining room. When we built this house over 12 years ago, we didnt think about wanting the dining to be any larger than it is now. But as our family is growing, we know we would enjoy more space for family gatherings at meal time! Mike plans to do most of the work himself. I'll post more pictures as the remodeling progresses.
