I am getting so excited for Christmas this year. It will be my grandson's second Christmas, so he should really be figuring Christmas out. There are so many wonderful food, but I have to say my Mammaw's Old Fashioned Fudge is my favorite recipe. It is quite a bit different from the choc. chip and marshmallow creme fudge, as you have to cook all the ingredients and then beat it all until it starts to sugar. You have to learn the correct technique. I love the Gooseberry Patch and their cookbooks. I'm hoping I can win this cookbook.

I want that cookbook!!! I love gooseberry patch and I don't have that one :) My very favorite recipe I always make at Christmas is Ritz Cracker Pie. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. If you've never had it I don't know how to describe it to you. It's a really rich pie with pecans in it and it's topped with whipped topping (I will be posting the recipe closer to Christmas if you are interested).

Thanks for hosting such a great giveway. I absolutely love the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks. My favorite holiday recipe is for Snowball cookies. It is a sugar cookie recipe with minced pecans rolled into a ball, baked and then rolled in confectionary sugar while they are still warm. Yum! I am crossing my fingers for this cookbook. Thank you so much!!

What a fun giveaway! Count me in. One of my favorite memories of the season is a cake my mother always made for Christmas called a Lottie's Lane cake. I don't really remember actually liking the cake as a child but it was always so pretty. It had a concoction of coconut, raisins, pecans and cherries for the "frosting" which wasn't really frosting but it made for a beautiful cake. Maybe I should make one this year. Now that I am all grown up I might actually like it! :)

Oh, Patti, what a beautiful cook book and fun give away. When I was a little girl in Hungary, my grandma always made apple strudel for Christmas. It was quite a production, too. But my kids favorite, besides the pumpkin pie? Snow Ball cookies. They are a short bread and are delish!

Swseet Avery will probably pick me for the winner. Haha.

Hugs,

Renie

Oooooh I so love Gooseberry Patch cookbooks! I don't have that one so I really need to win it!! lol I finished decorating the house today so I'm now really in the Christmas mood. Seems weird not having my tree up yet but I really want a real one again this year so I have to wait a bit longer. I so love your new decor in here and your header is adorable.

My favourite Christmas recipe is the Marshmallow Square that mom use to make from the time I can remember and that I continue to make every year:-)

Marshmallow Square

1 pkg miniature white marshmallows
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup chopped marashino cherries
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
dash of salt

Mix all the above ingredients together. Line a 8" square pan with some coconut. Add mixture on top and spread. Sprinkle more coconut on top and press down. Chill.

I'll announce your giveaway on my blog tomorrow morning:-) xoxo
